ReplyDeleteThanks, Koozma. Glad to hear there is such a festival. And thank you for being such torch bearer of peace yourself.
Sharon Tennison, Center for Citizen Initiatives. October 20, 2016.
ReplyDeleteDear Koozma,
If you have another next year might I get an invitation?
During the next year would any of your participants be interested in participating in a North American People’s Diplomacy trip to Russia?
I just got the idea while looking at your photos.
We definitely will begin these investigatory trips again in the new year.
My daring idea is to take 100 Americans to Russia (numbers get attention), meet with numerous Muscovites from bottom to top in Moscow and then divide into ten groups of 10 people to go to 10 different regions in Russia to see for ourselves what is going on all over Russia. To do surveys, have discussions on all topics, meet with everyone from students to officials, but mainly business and professionals from bakers to bankers and officials. Last go to Petersburg for plenary meetings and breakout groups to determine how we can use this information for educating our peoples when the groups return to their homes. Everyone going will make a pledge to educate for six months on return home — everything from home meetings to university students to local officials.
Hope to hear from you! All the best and thanks for your photos and explanations, Sharon
