The IDP Peace Proclamations were read by Canadian Peace Initiative members. The proclamations were from the UN Secty General and Mayors of cities and communities on both sides of the Ottawa River. The wet weather did not dishearten a crowd of approximately 100 who joined on the Island showing their commitment and intentions for nonviolent peace and caring stewardship of "Mother Earth". Earlier a smaller group gathered at the Human Rights Monument to commemorate those who had stood against social injustice and read the IDP proclamation issued from the Mayor Jim Watson's office.

Thank you everyone who organized and attended.Bill Bhanejahttp://www.departmentofpeace.canoreply@blogger.com
